The solo “Crying Over Spilled Milk” is a comedic autobiographical work about saying goodbye to breastfeeding. What does motherhood look like when it meets ADHD, in a constant attempt to be a “good enough mother”? Yulia presents an honest portrayal of motherhood, without the halo that traditionally surrounds it in art history and on social media.
In the piece “Audition”, the audience becomes the judging panelת but also the voices inside her head: the self-criticism, the fear, the constant need to prove herself and to be accepted, even when there is no role to win. Kelly Ayache steps onto the stage not to be chosen, but to be exposed.
Kelly Ayache is a choreographer, member of the Choreographers Association, dancer, actress and voice-over artist. Born in Paris, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Tel Aviv University and completed the Peridance professional program for dancers in New York. In her work, Kelly is in a constant search for the meeting point between dance and theatre, drama and comedy, realism and surrealism, depth and lightness. These tensions are recurring and central elements in her creations.
Yulia Frydin is an independent multidisciplinary artist working in dance, performance, painting, and writing. Born in Kyiv, she lives and works in Tel Aviv. She holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Fine Arts from The Midrasha School of Art at Beit Berl College. Frydin combines humor, text, and movement, creating a genre she defines as “Stand-Up Dance.” Her autobiographical works invite audiences to find identification, vulnerability, and comfort within personal narrative.
